‘Company of the Year’ selects Sabio to support its business-critical telephony and call centre infrastructure

Sabio to provide ongoing support to Telecom plus PLC for its Avaya infrastructure as it expands to meet rapidly growing demand for its unique multi-utility customer proposition

LONDON – 9th June 2009 - Sabio, the innovative contact centre services and solutions company, today announces that it has won a major contract to provide telephony and call centre infrastructure support for Telecom plus PLC’s rapidly-expanding customer contact operations. Trading as the Utility Warehouse, Telecom plus provide a unique fully integrated multi-utility package (covering gas, electricity, fixed telephony, mobile telephony and broadband) to homes and businesses across the UK. The company has seen significant growth during the recent economic downturn as potential customers increasingly search for ways to reduce their outgoings.

Telecom plus is currently on a growth projectory that will see its customer numbers double over the next two years. Sabio will provide ongoing support services to ensure that the company’s core Avaya telephony and call centre applications are able to both support this growth and enable the continued provision of the highest customer service levels. Telecom plus was recently recognised as the ‘Company of the Year’ at the annual PLC awards held in March 2009, with voters recognising the shareholder value created by the growth in services and revenues of its successful Utility Warehouse brand, which now has over 280,000 customers.

Under the new contract, Sabio will provide comprehensive support services to ensure the effective operation of the company’s core Avaya solutions including its major Communication Manager and Avaya Voice Portal implementations. Sabio will also provide Telecom plus with ongoing technology consultancy and advice to ensure that the company makes best use of its communications applications going forward.

According to Charles Wigoder, Telecom plus Chief Executive: “we’re committed to supporting our growth with the best available customer service systems and applications, and have recently completed our move into a larger building that provides the infrastructure to support our future growth. Maintaining our current high standards of customer service will be a key factor in our continued success, so bringing Sabio on board to ensure our technology delivers its full potential is clearly an important step for us.

“We’re also committed to further automating our customer service processes to deliver enhanced benefits to both our customers and the broader business,” he continued.  “Having access to Sabio’s deep Avaya capabilities, with its understanding of other key contact centre technology areas, helps give us the confidence we need to grow our service capability in line with the growth in customer numbers currently being experienced.”

“With its Utility Warehouse brand, Telecom plus has clearly created a compelling customer proposition, and we’re delighted to have been chosen to support their Avaya systems and applications while supporting their business with best practice technology advice,” added Sabio Director, Adam Faulkner. “Customer service is clearly an essential element of the Utility Warehouse offer, so we’ll be working closely with the team at Telecom plus to make sure that they have flexible and reliable contact centre systems and applications in place, leaving them free to drive their business forward and deliver the superior levels of service that their customers increasingly demand.”
