Location

This role requires the jobholder to spend approximately 70 -80% of his/her time at the client site undertaking installations that could last up to 5 weeks. Mobility is therefore essential.

Hours

Full Time, Monday to Friday. Requires flexibility of hours to accommodate colleagues and client contractual requirements.

Weekend and out of hours work will be a requirement. There is also a mandatory on call rota of 1-6 paid on top of the basic package.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical services and technology support to Sabio’s client base. This role is project based and covers the physical delivery and ongoing support to clients on products, applications, network systems and overall solutions.

This role requires an experienced individual who is fully competent within his/her own area and who shares his/her expertise with others, providing guidance and support. She/he will complete this role independently or with minimal supervision. She/he will have depth of expertise in one area, applying his/her knowledge to a range of standard and non-standard activities.

Acountabilities

  • Undertake Project meetings with customer to understand their technical and operational requirements to enable the creation of project documentation
  • Implement/install/customise systems
  • Provide status reports to Project Manager
  • Undertaking site meetings and creation of project notes as and when appropriate;
  • Assisting in the creation of change controls
  • Complete testing of installation and associated documentation
  • When required, complete ‘knowledge transfer’ to customer
  • Completion of project documentation for their element of the deployed solution, which will be included in the final project documentation handed to Support Team for the future support of the solution
  • Completion of documentation in relation to small projects and support work
  • Provide ongoing support in the event of issues being escalated by Support Team; clearly identify issues, ascertain importance and priority, then provide troubleshooting and testing (may be remote or on-site).
  • Search product documentation/Internal systems/supplier and manufacturer extranets/other knowledge bases for solutions to issues/to increase own knowledge

Skills, Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of Avaya AURA Convergence products, CM, MM, ME, SIP
  • Exposure to Linux (preferable Red Hat)
  • Exposure to Windows operating system
  • Excellent Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
  • Proven capability in support/administration environments and 3rd party applications
  • Analytical mindset with logical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Good spoken and written English: able to explain issues clearly and in detail
  • Avaya, ACS, ACIS Avaya accreditation
  • Ability to understand and grasp new products
  • CCNA certification

Desirable

  • Avaya AES
  • Avaya SBC
  • Cognos BI Tools or similar
  • SQL database administration
  • MSCE or CCNA certification (or similar)
